The only way to improve your search engine rank is by playing by their rules. And the main rule is very simple: make it logical. Web content is primarily for the site visitors and not google bots or crawlers.If your Search Engine Optimizer sold you a magic “Top rank on Google in 10 days flat”. Just Forget it. There are no short cuts here lad.. Top ranking in Search Engine Natural Results will take a bit of time. Hard work is imperative especially in developing your content on your website and the inbound links to your site.
SEO Commandment 2: Getting Ranked is Not the End, It’s the Means.. Ask yourself this question : what will a top search engine rank get you? Most businesses are interested in increasing sales on their website(s) or at the least driving qualified traffic there. Ranking for the right keywords (keywords used by your target audience) is very important. There are SEOs who will try to show case search results for keywords that occur only on your website. Beware of such gimmicks!!
SEO Commandment 3: Use A Search Engine Friendly Design. A search and visitor friendly design is a must for any website to be successful. Your website should be compelling enough for repeat visits by search engines and potential customers. Make sure you have search engine friendly URLs and avoid those long URLs with crazy query strings.. you know wot I mean :O)
SEO Commandment 4: Get to Know Your Competition. “Rank” is a relative position and more so in the Search Engines’ natural results.
